TAKE IT TO GO

This one is for all of us who maybe didn’t have the most romantic February, or more specifically, Valentines day. Let me paint you a little picture of our special evening…

My husband Rock is a school teacher and almost every year Parent Teach Conference lands smack dab on Valentines day. So our plans usually move to the weekend afterward (avoiding the crowds is so much more pleasant anyways!). But this year we had an even LESS romantic evening than I could even imagine. I laid my sweet mini boyfriend to bed about 7:00, and then decided it was time for a nice relaxing bath all to myself. Guilty pleasure show on of course and a good sized bowl of Cadbury mini eggs by my side. Stayed in till nice and prune-y, then wrapped my warm self up in a robe with a tattered top knot and continued my Netflix binge in bed. No makeup (with dark circles under my eyes that would scare small children), hair that probably should have been washed a few days prior, and my robe and comfy socks on- I was looking my finest.

Rock walked in the door with takeout, which we devoured in about 10 min.

8:00…..

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK….

Maggie (my dog) went nuts, so I wrangled her back from the front door trying to stop her from waking up the baby, and Rock opened the door to two LDS sister missionaries standing there in the freezing winds. I probably looked at them with the most confused, panicked and utterly disgusted look (partly due to my perma resting bitch face that has only gotten worse because of the growing dark circles under my eyes). We invited them in and they just sat on the couch and chatted with us, all the while I sat on the opposite couch trying not to flash them in any way (still in my robe, still wrangling my 50lb lap dog).

9:00 rolls around and they finally head home. 9pm in my current situation of only sleeping 2 hr segments due to way too many night feedings…it felt like 3 in the morning.

Que baby screaming for another feeding, and we just looked at each other and started laughing at how utterly bizarre our night had turned out. Happy Valentines day to us!

This is the first time showing this editorial as I wanted it to be seen, as a full story! It’s a long one, but I just couldn’t resist posting all my favorites.

Now I’m off to grab some takeout cause its impossible to resist those little white boxes…

ENJOY!
